Billing Specialist

Fasikl is an innovative medical technology company focused on delivering non-invasive, AI-driven neuromodulation solutions. Our flagship product is FDA-cleared to aid in functional limitations due to essential tremor. As we expand access to it through Medicare, commercial insurers, and direct-to-patient channels, we are seeking a Billing Specialist to support our end-to-end revenue cycle operations.

Position Overview

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of payer billing and reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers, and self-pay patients. This role will develop and execute billing processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize collections. The ideal candidate brings strong DMEPOS billing experience, strategic thinking, and hands-on management capability in a startup or growth-stage healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all claims submission, follow-up, denial management, and patient billing processes for DMEPOS services.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in coding (HCPCS), modifiers, and payer-specific rules across all channels (Medicare, private insurance, self-pay).
  • Develop and refine scalable billing workflows and documentation requirements in partnership with customer service, clinical, and fulfillment teams.
  • Monitor and resolve claims denials, rejections, and delays; manage appeals processes to maximize reimbursement.
  • Manage payer enrollment, credentialing, and policy updates for DMEPOS billing.
  • Track and report on key revenue cycle metrics, including DSO, collections, aging, and denial trends.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of billing software, clearinghouses, and internal tracking tools to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategy, payer contracting, and reimbursement policy changes.
  • Ensure HIPAA and CMS regulatory compliance in all billing activities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field required.
  • 3+ years of medical billing and reimbursement experience required.
  • Deep understanding of DMEPOS billing, Medicare guidelines, and commercial insurance workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of HCPCS coding, payer rules, CMS documentation standards, and revenue cycle best practices.
  • Experience working with billing software/ERP tools.
  • Proven ability to develop processes, solve problems, and deliver operational results in a growing company.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion with PHI.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a startup, digital health, or medical device company.
  • Familiarity with payer contracting and reimbursement policy negotiation.
  • Understanding of accreditation requirements for DMEPOS suppliers.
